Visit of the Plitvice National Park: reservation required from May 2019

For several years, the influx of tourists visiting the park, like the 1.7 million visitors in 2018, represents an ecological risk for the park. Measures had to be taken to regulate the flow of visitors.

Concretely, the park set up from May 2019 a system of online ticket purchases:
- purchase at least 2 days before the planned visit date, indicating the chosen time slot.
- exchange the voucher received against the entrance ticket at the ticket office at least 30 minutes before the scheduled time.
- changes or cancellations are impossible within 48 hours of the visit (except in exceptional cases)

The park is open all year with peaks of attendance in July and August, the highest from 10 am to 14 pm.
There are fewer people from 4 pm and tickets are cheaper at this time.
