New for Croatia from 01/01/2023: changeover to the euro, integration into the Schengen area.

From January 1, 2023 Croatia changes its currency and the country adopts the euro, thus joining most of the member states of the European Union. It is also on this date that Croatia joined the Schengen area, an area of free movement between member states.

Commissioning of the Peljesac bridge on 26/07/2022

The bridge connects the continent to the Peljesac peninsula, thus constituting a new axis of circulation between the two parts of the country without passing through the Bosnian enclave. It is the largest infrastructure achievement in Croatia, it is 2.4 km long, 55 meters high and includes 4 traffic lanes
